"They say a wandering spirit can be held in two different states of the void - one on shore, and the other deep underwater. It is rumored to keep them at bay and their minds silent, but that hasn't always been easy to manage. Always drenched in darkness, hoping for light."

THE VOID - THE WANDERING SPIRITS
[Author Notes: Abilities >
Influence comes in different stages, which come with the "disease" that comes with visiting the Void too often. Similar to the Dark Forest's smoke inhalation "disease".
Stage 1: Little Influence
At this stage, nothing really changes with the cat training or being in the Void. They feel consistently sick in the stomach, however, nothing else is much different.
Stage 2: Invested
At Stage 2, a training cat will start seeing their environment seem darker or more static-y like how it is in the Void. They may forget things more often, and be more drone-like. It may be more difficult to recognize clanmates you once knew.
Stage 3: Hooked
Stage 3 is the second to last stage of the Void's influence on a cat. At this stage, a cat invested in the Void gains a glowing symbol on their shoulder that is only visible to other Void followers, and stripes that much resemble the Dark Forest's counter, that marks a good deed and a bad one (also only visible to other Void followers in Stage 2+). Your clanmates are unrecognizable save for high ranks, who have their accompanying symbol branded on their foreheads - Leaders have a "sparkle" star, Deputies have a regular star, and Medicine Cats have a leaf or flower.
It is a rare occurance that a mate may be able to see their loved ones counter, however it is unproven to be true.
Stage 4: The Final Stage:
Stage 4 is the last stage a cat can ever get to. When a cat is at this stage, it is more visible to others outside of followers that they are following the Void - their eyes appear to be pitch black like the Void itself and their counters on their legs appear as well as their symbol on their shoulder. It is uncommon for a cat to reach this stage, as it takes a lot to get past the third.
